DeepCover® embedded security solutions cloak sensitive data under multiple layers of advanced physical security to provide the most secure key storage possible.
The DeepCover Security Manager (DS3605) is the integration of a nonvolatile (NV) SRAM controller, real-time clock (RTC), CPU supervisor, and temperature sensor to provide tamper protection for secure transaction terminals and other security-sensitive applications. The RTC can be used with a common 32.768kHz 6pF watch crystal. Access to the time-of-day and tamper monitoring is conducted through an I²C-compatible interface.

In the event of a primary power failure, an external battery source is automatically switched on to keep the internal and external memory, RTC, and tamper-detection circuitry alive. Additionally, output signals are provided to reset the microprocessor, indicate battery operation, and power external circuitry from either the system supply or the battery.
