The USB260x is a USB 2.0 compound device that provides an interface between a single upstream USB Host port and a USB Hub with 3 downstream ports and a Flash Card Media Controller.
The USB2602 features xD Picture Card™ format support for licensees of that format.
The USB260x provides a single chip solution for the most prevalent options for transfer of digital media - popular flash memory cards and USB Hub ports which can be used for any USB mass storage device including digital cameras, flash drives and MP3 Players. If PictBridge is supported on the USB host then the downstream ports can also be used for PictBridge.
The device consists of a USB 2.0 upstream PHY, 3 downstream Hub PHYs, Hub controller with three transaction translators for FS/LS USB traffic, 8051 microprocessor with expanded scratchpad, and program SRAM, and CF, MS, SM and SD controllers. The device can support up to 4 slot flash memory operation and has the card power MOSFETS integrated on chip.
