The MCP98208 digital temperature sensor converts temperatures between -20°C and +60°C to a digital word with ±0.5°C (max.) accuracy. The MCP98208 includes the ultimate value-added features and functionality making it a perfect fit for Cold Chain/Supply Chain Data-logger applications to include Pharmaceutical Data-logger applications and others. The MCP98208 implements customer-specified temperature accuracy verification eliminating the high cost need to use third party test houses (or Customer in-house resources) to verify a temperature sensor’s temperature accuracy. The MCP98208 uses an ISO/IEC-17025 accredited production flow. In addition, the MCP98208 has an internal 256-byte EEPROM that can be used to store user-customizable data or specific product information, critically important to enhancing the application's system performance and reliability. The EEPROM provides ultimate data storage and protection capabilities with Permanent Write-Protect and Software Reversible Write-Protect options. This device has user-selectable settings such as shutdown or low-power modes and the specification of temperature Event and Critical output boundaries. The MCP98208 has an industry standard 2-wire, I2C™Compatible compatible serial interface, allowing up to eight sensors to be controlled in a single serial bus. The MCP98208 device is available in a space saving 2 x 3 mm, 8-lead TDFN package.
