The device's superior RF power management capabilities enable an extremely low current consumption. This permits the use of smaller batteries to realize miniature designs, which is a key criteria for battery operated applications.

The ATA8710 supports OOK/ASK/FSK modulation and has a user configurable output power of -12dBm to +14.5dBm  that is programmable in 0.4-dB steps.

The ATA8710 combines RF functionality with a proven Microchip AVR® microcontroller core. Configuration via the EEPROM enables quick and seamless adaptation to the individual application needs. Programming is done via the SPI - even on-the-fly during operation. In addition to FLASH memory for application-specific software needs a software library is included in ROM.
