The Results of Temperature Sensors - PTC Thermistors 597
PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistors increase in resistance sharply as temperature rises — making them ideal for overcurrent protection (as resettable PPTC fuses in USB ports, battery packs, and automotive wiring harnesses), self-regulating heater elements, and inrush current limiting in power supply designs. Our PTC inventory covers ceramic (switching) PTCs and polymer (PPTC) types from Littelfuse (Polyswitch/Raychem), Bourns, TE Connectivity (Bourns again), Vishay, and TDK — with hold currents from 50mA to 100A, trip currents from 100mA to 200A, and operating temperatures up to +125°C for most automotive-grade versions.
PPTC resettable fuses in compact 0402/0603/0805 SMD packages and the larger radial leaded formats are staple components in consumer electronics and automotive modules — and are frequently on allocation. Welllinkchips stocks common PPTC part numbers (RXE series, miniSMD series) and can source discontinued PTC types needed for legacy product repair.
